LOSMA’s DARWIN centrifugal oil mist extractors are designed for individual purification systems. The DARWIN is installed next to the machine, either nearby or directly on the roof. It is suitable for machine tools and production machines that use oil-based cutting fluids, emulsions and water. The oil mist present in the machine cabin is extracted. It is filtered by the centrifugal effect combined with the coalescing foams of the M and D models, before being returned to the atmosphere via a high-efficiency Hepa13 post-filter. In addition, the negative pressure generated by the DARWIN during oil mist extraction helps to contain polluted air in the cabin. It is important to take into account the spray pressure of the machine’s pumps, as well as the application. When the machine tool is equipped with high-pressure spray pumps, the resulting high level of mist requires the use of a pre-filtration module.

The GUARD pre-filter acts as a settling chamber, reducing the speed and trapping micro-oil droplets, fine particles and volatile chips. The coalesced micro-oil droplets are drained. They can be returned either to the machine sump or to a separate sump.

Installing a DARWIN oil mist extractor allows you to:

The DARWIN range consists of three models with different flow rates:

• DARWIN T, single turbine for applications with low utilisation rates and fine particle loads. 600 to 3000 M³/h
• DARWIN M, single centrifuge for production applications working with emulsions. 600 to 3000 M³/h
• DARWIN D, double centrifuge for applications working with emulsions and whole oils or intensive applications. 600 to 3000 M³/h 

A stainless steel version is available for water mist.
